What is bokashi?

Bokashi is fermented using lactic acid bacteria. Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) inoculated into soil has been shown to increase decomposition of organic matter. This may lead to a faster release of plant nutrients within the inoculated soil, increase humus and the overall life of the soil. LAB may also contribute to disease suppression

Kashi Blend is not a stand-alone inoculate or nutrient but compliments a complete microbial inoculation program in a properly amended soil.

What’s in your Kashi Blend?

Our Kashi Blend is derived from organic molasses, organic rice bran, organic wheat bran organic camelina meal, organic insect frass, EM-1, and trace minerals.

Post-Fermentation: Organic powdered malted barley and charged biochar that’s inoculated with Rootwise® Mycrobe Complete.

How to Use On Plants:

To use simply apply 1/3 cup to 15 gallons of soil every 10-14 days.

How to Make Tea:

When making a tea, we advise you steep rather than make an aerated brew.

Use 1/2 cup – 1 cup per 5 gallons of water. Steep for 4 to 12 hours, strain and apply.
If you choose to aerate, we suggest you brew for a maximum of 4 hours.

Kashi Blend can be used to make a tea, however the formulation is most suitable as a top dress.

How to Use as a Compost Accelerator:

To use simply sprinkle a generous amount on top of each new layer you place in your composting bin. Once full, take the bokashi compost and bury outside for 2 to 3 weeks. After the 2 to 3 weeks, simply dig up and use as you would any other compost.
